Mini Nautical Pocketknife

Regular price 75.00 Sale

The best knife is the one you have on you when you need it! This gorgeous knife is both aesthetically beautiful to carry around and also sharp and highly utilitarian! A great gift for guys or gals, this mini knife will fit in any pocket- yes, even those ridiculously petite pockets in ladies denim!

This beautiful pocketknife is made from scrimshaw. Scrimshaw was originally practiced by american whalers who spent long hours aboard ships in the 1800’s. The designs were carved into the bones of marine mammals, although this knife and present-day scrimshaw is carved into more responsibly and ethically sourced materials such as ox or cow bone.

This particular knife has original artwork from Linda Layden, a US based scrimshander.

Measuring just over 2 inches closed and 3.75 inches open- this is a great petite sized knife. The knife has a lockback feature so that the blade is secured in position when extended. The knife is a Rough Rider and is made from 440 stainless steel. The front features a ship and anchor, while the back of the knife has a tiny whale design!
